Why Agonize when you can Organize!
In my previous blog I shared my kitchen tips. The response was overwhelming! So here are all my other organizing tricks that keep me happy, sane, and thriving.
In my previous blog (Get, Prep, Go) I had shared my tips and tricks of organizing your kitchen and food style. I received a lot of positive responses and additional hacks from you dear readers. Thank you so much!
In this blog I will share other tips and tricks that I practice in my life which helps me stay happy, save time, be effective, helps in my minimalism and uncluttering journey and more than anything — sane.
This is a habit that needs to be cultivated slowly and I hope you start your own journeys of becoming the next Marie Kondo!
Have a to-do list — I keep a centralized log of all the things I need to do and keep adding any new task that comes my way. This includes household chores, social engagements, friends' birthdays and anniversaries. I use the app Remember the Milk to maintain my to-do list and Bring to list my groceries.
Designate a place for everything — This is something that I am quite a stickler for. Having a place for everything makes your house look neat and tidy. Things used often are always kept in the first row of the drawer and the least used stuff is kept in the last row.
Digital declutter — I am a stickler for a clean inbox. I try to always maintain inbox zero. Any mail that is actioned is archived and I have very strict folders and labels for all my mails.
The 2-minute rule — If something takes less than 2 minutes, do it now. Don't put it on your to-do list, don't postpone it. Just do it.
Sunday Reset — Every Sunday I do a reset. I plan my week, check my calendar, meal prep, clean the house and get everything ready so Monday morning doesn't feel like a battlefield.
Be kind to yourself — Organizing is a journey not a destination. There will be days when everything is a mess and that is perfectly ok. The goal is progress, not perfection.
Remember — when you organize your space, you organize your mind. And a calm mind is a superpower.
